Introduction to templates
Templates are the building blocks that let InTouch automate a matter. Rather than writing the same workflow, email, letter, or text message by hand every time, you set it up once as a template and InTouch reuses it — filling in the details specific to each matter automatically.
This section covers everything you need to build and configure them.
Two kinds of template
Section titled “Two kinds of template”It helps to keep two related ideas separate:
- Matter templates are the workflow behind a transaction — the tasks, stakeholders, and custom fields that are created whenever a new matter is opened. A Purchase, Sale, or Remortgage each has its own matter template.
- Content templates are the correspondence generated on a matter — emails, documents, letters, and SMS messages. These pull real matter and stakeholder data in as they run, so each one comes out personalised.
The two work together: a matter template’s tasks are what trigger the content templates at the right point in the transaction.
