Locking matters
Locking a matter can restrict other users from being able to access the case.
The users that will be able to access the matter depends on:
- The permissions applied to their staff profile
- The team they are allocated to on InTouch
The following permissions are available:
- Restrict a user from being able to access any matters assigned to a different team on InTouch
- Restrict a user from being able to access any locked matters assigned to a different team on InTouch
To lock a matter
- Select the settings cog in the top right hand corner of the matter
- Select Lock to Fee Earner's Team
The matter will now be locked to the users with the relevant permissions applied.
To unlock a matter
- Visit the matter
- Select Unlock in the blue notification in the left hand corner
Notes
- All users will still be able to upload files to a locked matter through the Word plugin
- All users will still be able to upload emails to a locked matter through the Outlook plugin
- Users will not be able to view or select files from a matter that is locked to them when sending emails via the Outlook plugin
- If a user has the setting "Include alarms & traffic lights from my organisation" turned on in their Daily Summary email, this will exclude any matters that are locked to them
- All users will still be able to transfer client money to a locked file
- Users can still access information on locked matters through the InTouch reporting suite
