Word document: removing protected view/editing

When generating a Word document, you might be presented with a warning message to enable editing:

Enable Editing

To enable editing, printing and saving, select Enable Editing.

If you are unable to exit Protected View, please contact your administrator as they may have created rules that prevent leaving Protected View.

Changing Protected View Settings

To avoid having to enable editing every time you generate a document via InTouch, follow the steps below to change your Protected View settings:

  1. Open a new Word document
  2. Navigate to File > Options
  3. Select Trust Centre > Trust Centre Settings
  4. Navigate to the Protected View tab
  5. Untick the box: 'Enable Protected View for files originating from the Internet'
  6. Select OK then OK again
You may require an administrator's permission before amending Protected View settings.
