Automatic matter references
Each matter has it's own unique reference. You can either enter these manually when a matter is created, or set up a system wide convention to reference your matters automatically.
Automatically Referencing Matters
InTouch provides a default matter reference convention of the below:
{{matter.feeEarner.initials}}/{{matter.template.initials}}/{{matter.primaryClient.surname}}-{{matter.primaryClient.forenameInitials}\This means if the fee earner was "Joe Bloggs", the matter was a "Purchase", and the primary client was "John David Smith", the matter reference would output as JB/P/Smith-JD.
To set up your own automatic matter reference:
- Navigate to Settings > Organisation settings > Advanced
- Under Matter Reference Convention enter the desired text
Make use of data markers and data helpers to automatically input custom matter or stakeholder information into your matter references.
