Archiving


Technically there is no difference between “archived”, “completed” or "closed" matters.

The completed and closed matter state reports includes matters that have been archived.

The main difference is that archived matters can be filtered out on the matter home page.

Filtering helps to keep InTouch fast when searching for matters.

Archiving Matters

Matters can be archived in three ways:

  • Manually, via the matter state menu
    Within a matter, change the matter's state dropdown list to Archived.
  • Automatically, a defined number of days after a matter has been marked as "closed"
    Ensure your organisation has this setting configured within your Settings > Organisation Settings > Advanced.
  • Automatically via the completion of a task
    Set a task to automatically archive a matter within your matter templates.
